09/06 – Present: Freelance Photographer, Artist, Graphic Designer and Educator
Photographer: I have been in love with photography ever since I got my first camera at the age of 8 and I’m now lucky enough to make a living doing what I love.
I work for a variety of clients including M&S and Coca Cola, as well as a number of publications. This involves consistently practicing and demonstrating a broad range of photography techniques and skills. I have been the first choice photographer for M&S Company Archive for the last five years.
Artist: Creating art and following artistic endeavours is what keeps me sane. Most of my work explores human relationships with the local environment.
My artwork is internationally exhibited and has nominated for many awards which include: Winner of Sheffield Photographic Open 2012, Renaissance Photography Awards 2012 finalist, Lumen Digital Arts Prize 2012 finalist and short listed for the Vantage Art Prize 2013. I was also short listed for International Garden Photographer of the Year. Please see below for an abridged exhibition list.
Designer: I started to take design commissions in 2010 and since then this side of my freelance work has grown and grown. I work on a variety of exciting design projects. From website work with Kate Moss Parfums to branding, bike model artwork and advertising for e-bike manufacturer VOLT™.
Educator: I love all the education work I do. I have been involved with facilitating workshops since I left art college in 2003. Since 2006 I have been writing and delivering my own workshops and in 2014 I established my own photography workshop company called Walking Photographer Tours. Since then I have been delivering 2-5 workshops a month to a wide range of audiences including specific commissions from Canal & River Trust, Transport for Greater Manchester as well as private sector corporations like BNY Mellon.
