Volt Bikes Design Sneak Preview…

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

This year I’ve been working with electric bike manufacturer Volt and their 2012 electric bike range. This is an exciting project for me as I originally designed the branding and logo for Volt and will be photographing and building a new website for the 2012 electric bike range.

I was excited to receive some photos this week from Volt giving a sneak preview of the bikes in the warehouse…

New Zealand Fur Seal Pups

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

This week I’ve been working on (as well as 101 other things) a proposal for a series on the New Zealand Fur Seal pups. Here’s a sneak preview, with a few excerpts from the article…

…The sentence began “So have you seen?…” and as the words “seal pups” and “waterfall” were heard everything said before, during and after became blurred noise…

…As we moved on over the bridge and continued along the footpath we just couldn’t believe the amount of pups we encountered. Some slept in the roots of trees, others squabbled on the banks, while more played carelessly in the fast flowing water, they were everywhere!…

..We reluctantly and tentatively made a move back down the stream towards the car park, incessantly aware that we were moving away from something spectacular, something we may never experience again…

Photo in the Theatre…

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

It’s always great when your photographs get commissioned for something a little different. Last week I got a  commission that was a new first for me. My photograph ‘Untitled (Empty Room)’ is to be used in a production called ‘War Sum Up’…

12 singers and a striking light design that give a powerful visual impression of the nature of war. Follow the Warrior, the Spy and the Soldier through their transformation into a world of light and dark, battle and death. From man to machine, to statue, ghost and fantasy heroine. Three stories in XL of glorification and abomination

The image will be projected onto a large wall for 10 second towards the end of the play which debuts early September in Riga, where it will then embark on a European tour through into 2013.

A few months ago I was commissioned to run a photography workshop for young people who were out of full time education and employment. Following the workshop ran a portraiture session where I took portraits of the attendees this portraits were then sold to friendsand family to raise money for charity.

Last week I attended the graduation ceromony which was great. Below you can see some of the portraits taken. You can also see more on this particular commission in the workshop and education section of my website :  http://www.richbunce.com/anstee-bridge.php
