My work represents a series of coincidental or fateful moments woven together, as in life. Posing the same questions, from a distance that allows me to reflect upon such fleeting observations.

I don't understand everything I create. I create as a means to understand.

From an early age we learn to watch people. A cycle of observation and imitation is integral to our development and continues through to the end of our lives. Even the choice to not imitate, to break from the crowd, is a response rooted in this observation.

My work is less concerned with the immediate identity of individuals or groups, it drawers inspiration from the objectification of the subjects; collectively looking at the behaviour of individuals within a space and recording the choices they make, their engagement with the space and others who occupy it. These choices can be deliberate, planned or subconsciously undertaken and are always influenced by a multitude of forces; habit, desire, which stem from this learned behaviour and prior experience.

In turn, the viewer is free to look at these interactions without the associations that cling to an identifiable subject and is then able to apply their own imagination and experience to the scenario.
